Aphrodite is the ancient Greek goddess of love, lust and passion. Unlike Eros (the Greek counterpart to Cupid and often considered a child of Aphrodite) and his blunt force use of a golden arrow through the heart to make anyone fall madly in love or lead arrow to inspire hatred, Aphrodite's influence over love is far less violent. The Heart of Aphrodite empowers the goddess to influence love in subtle ways. A twist of the dial to reveal an upward facing triangle in the top viewer and a heart in the bottom viewer will increase the love between her two targets. A twist of the dial to reveal a downward facing triangle in the top viewer and a heart in the bottom viewer will decrease the love between her two targets. A twist of the dial to reveal a left or right facing arrow in the top viewer and a heart in the bottom viewer will cause her target to shift affections away from their current lover and towards another.
Rose Quartz and Aphrodite: Adonis (a mortal) and Aphrodite were lovers - angering Aphrodite's ex-lover Ares, the God of War. One day, Adonis set out on a hunting trip in the forest. Ares, always looking for an opportunity to exact revenge, transformed himself into a wild boar and set out to mortally wound Adonis. Hearing Adonis' screams, Aphrodite rushed down from heaven to save him, tearing her clothes and flesh on a thorny briar bush. Aphrodite's blood mixed with Adonis' blood and fell onto nearby Quartz, staining it pink and signifying the symbolic hues of Rose Quartz. The fusion of their blood led Zeus to show compassion, bringing Adonis back to Aphrodite for six months each year and leading Rose Quartz to become the symbol of reconciliation and undying love.
